Review of The Longest Day (1962) by Scott G — 29 Sep 2007
Recreation of d day, but not just omaha beach, we see the leading up to it, the planning from allied forces, and what the germans were thinking at the time, we see all the different forces who banded together, and played there part, from the para troopers landing in land to the beach landings it self, and the many battle that cintinued into the town.
all done in great detail, and stands up rather well for its age, and the post days of saving private ryan, the action is still realistic in its depiction, great production values on show here, and a great cast too, a list stars turning up from john wayne, to henry fonda, even the legendery richard burton playing someone drunk, imagine that eh, a great war movie and one that is in my top 10 war for sure.
