To this day, "The Longest Day," remains my favorite war movie of all time. Saving Private Ryan barely holds a candle to the ingenuity of this 1962 classic. The all-star cast is seemingly endless.
Sure Saving Private Ryan had better effects, but what this movie did, with what they had, is almost unfathomable to me. If you haven't seen it yet you need to buy it and devote 3 hours to, "The Longest Day," because if you have an appreciation for war films in the slightest, you will surely enjoy this.
