Review of The Longest Day (1962) by Jerem M — 03 Feb 2013
After a stellar set-up, this WWII epic devolves into another 2 1/2 hours of constant battle scenes with zero story or character arc. The first 30 minutes are not to be missed, but that can be said about Saving Private Ryan, and that film was much much more effective at relaying the impact of D-Day.
