Review of The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) by Cat D — 16 Mar 2008
Back in the days when I thought Renny Harlin was a brilliant director and Shane Black was worth every penny, I mistook this movie for a four star classic of the genre. It's quite clearly not. Despite a few witty lines and the occasional bit of inventive action, the film is neither exciting enough, quirky enough or silly enough to entertain as much as it should.
Geena Davis looks like a caricature of herself, and watching this again after all these years hammers home that Samuel L. Jackson actually has been turning in the same performance for the last decade.
