Review of The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) by Tim L — 17 Mar 2012
This is what one would consider a 'FUN' movie. It's Hollywood not taking itself too seriously. This is action, but with just enough cheeseiness to make it good. This is comedy, with sarcasm and tongue in cheek, R-rated humor.
This is a typical spy thriller, but with some serious comedy thrown in as well. It's similiar to Lethal Weapon but within even more humor. Geena Davis is a teacher with amnesia who realized she has a dangerous past. Samual L. Jackson is the ex dirty cop turned private dick that she hires to help her find out about her past. Then comes a road trip full of gunfights, action, explosions, and laugh out loud humor. This isn't a great movie, but it's a memorable one, with Jackson and Davis obviously enjoying the roles they are playing.
