Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Jessica R — 18 Oct 2007
This is the ultimate Altman movie. It reimagines the noir detective film with a hipster logic. Once you see it, you'll not be able to take Bogart's Marlowe seriously again. This depiction is so subversive and intuitively right! And no-one could have played Marlowe like Elliott Gould.
A wonderful movie of audacious imagination and intellect. It will leave you giddy with excitement at the reckless risks the moviemakers took and brought off.
