Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Eric R — 28 May 2008
I saw this at my school for Roger Ebert's last visit to the Conference on World Affairs before his surgeries. I was skeptical that he chose this movie out of the other Altman films but I saw what he wasy saying.
David Arkin plays the best Philip Marlow behind Bogart and the modernity of the story makes it more fun. It is not one of the best detective films but this reinvention is worth the watch.
