Review of The Long Goodbye (1973) by Johnny K — 14 Oct 2008
Gosh, not easy to watch it all. Altman's adaptation choose to show only a subtle hint of mystery, and overall it is a Chandler mystery without dynamite tension. The 70's social depictions are evident, but personally I can't connect myself to them.
Still, the cinematography is descent, Elliott Gould is fun as Marlowe (personally not a fan of Bogart anyway)...and there is Arnold!
