Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Helen M — 14 Dec 2007
If there is a photo-finish for the best British ganger film ever made, then John Mackenzie's high octane drama wins and all other contenders are also-rans! Bob Hoskiins leaps off the screen as the London gangland boss who unexpectedly finds himself waging a war for turf with the IRA.
Stellar supporting cast, especially Helen Mirren.
