Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Stephen C — 25 Dec 2007
Compared to Guy ritchies attempt at gangster films this is a balls out classic.
Hoskins give one of his best Performances as Harold a man who has embraced Thatcherism to a whole and will let nothing stand in his way even the IRA .
Helen Mirren gives great support as the women behind the throne who sometimes has more brains than Harolds cronies .
The final scene shows Hoskins at his best and the whole film takes place in a time when greed was becoming good and the basics were forgotten which would prove Harolds and the countrys undoing.
