Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Ross M — 14 Sep 2008
This has aged badly. Just seems loaded with annoying Cockney gangster cliches. Always held up as a seminal and influential British gangster classic, yet this film's strengths are the beginning and ending - where it diverges from the usual plotlines of gangster movies: the mob actually coming off second best.
