Review of The Long Good Friday (1980) by Carys E — 27 Jun 2009
Solid, gritty piece of work with a tragic character at its core, brought to life by Bob Hoskins. Come for the great storytelling, but even better, stay for an advanced study in how to craft an empathetic character out of a scumbag, without resorting to the usual romantic fling b-story.
