Review of The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962) by Aaron T — 28 Aug 2007
A good film that could've been considerably better, had it been tweaked by a more skillful cinematographer and editor.
A bland plot made much better by interesting characters, which they didn't go into enough, in my opinion. They spent too much time talking about the damn race at the end of the movie, which I had very little emotional stock in to begin with. I wanted to see more of the main character's home life. His abusive mother, his negligent father, and everything else.
It's an interesting and worthwhile film, but I wouldn't tell anyone to rush out right away and see it.
