Look, it's art. It talks about real life using allegory and allusion. It is funny and brutal, just like real life. And it is spot on in its observations. The first half flies by in a stream of clever and hilarious developments.
The second half drags a bit and the ending is intentionally ambiguous. It has a lot to say and consider. I'd put it in the vein of a film like Delicatessen. If you like things literal and your idea of imaginative is a superhero film you probably won't like it.
Not trying to disparage that, too much, just saying it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if this is your kind of film or not.
