Between choppy, childish dialogue, non-funny jokes, and frankly boring visual story telling, I found The Lobster to be one of the most dull movies I've ever seen.
I didn't find it "deep", or "ambitious", or "complex". I found it dull. At no point in the film was I interested in the characters progression, the story progression, or even just in seeing the beautiful cinematography - because there wasn't any.
The narration is an excellent allegory for the rest of the film: monotone.
