Review of The Lives of Others (2006) by Alejandro T — 28 Sep 2011
A great GREAT raw human story, taken from East Germany's history. Based on the doings of a single character, brought to life by an amazingly odd and dry (and this is good) MÃ 1/4he, the story takes you into an amazing insight to what life was back in the days of the German republic and the doings of the Stasi (State security).
With an amazing setting, the director manages to show a sometimes human, sometimes political and sometimes pseudo-documentary-like story, that, seemingly dull, happens to be an amazing piece of German history.
