Review of The Little Prince (2015) by Kurt N — 05 Aug 2016
After watching the whole movie, I can say honestly it is the best animated film I have yet seen. It is relatable, raw, cute, dark, full of laughs, and absolutely perfectly conveys the wonder and quirkiness of being a child.
It's the first family movie I have seen in a very long time where the emotions and feelings and characters are not rubbed in your face like a cheap gimmick scientifically proven to force you to feel.
If anything the film comes to you with a patient look of sincerity and extends its hand for you to take a journey with it, and it is your decision to do so that will leave you loving the film. Fantastic.
I am so happy I finally was able to watch this film after hearing about it's incredibly arduous journey to be accessible to the public. I can see elements inspired by its predecessors, like Up, Wall-E, etc, yet it somehow manages to do the impossible: it transcends and perfects the deep, emotional, and imaginative animated film genre.
It made me feel so intensely like a child again in the best way possible. I will be re-watching this again soon.
