This has been my favorite book for years and I finally gave in and watched the film. I have to say, I was incredibly happy with it. While it left out a few of my favorite parts (baobabs!) it was true to the story, had some great interpretive dance (not usually my thing) and was just as heartbreaking.
Also, it was quite trippy, which I didn't expect but loved.
