Review of The Little Mermaid (1989) by Dan H — 26 Nov 2012
The film that ushered in the new golden age of Disney. This sweet, simplistic tale is simply beautiful. It's got gorgeous animation, some great tunes and a fantastic score that make it all the more memorable.
Ariel has always been my favorite Disney princess for many reasons (she's a mermaid, she' super hot, and she's got a great sense of curiosity). The film has some other fantastic characters too, like Sebastian, who is one of the great, memorable Disney characters, and Ursula is a classic Disney villain through and through (her climax and death are to die for, and I LOVE her laugh).
The Little Mermaid is a Disney classic that will continue to endure for a very long time. Quite possibly my favorite Disney musical.
