Oof, this movie hasn't aged well. It feels more like a filmed community theatre play than a motion picture, with the adult stars talking loudly and awkwardly. The score is especially jarring, and sounds like a 70's era porno film.
It has been said that it was initially planned as a made for TV movie, but with the themes of child abuse, rape, murder and animal cruelty, it is no wonder it went into theatrical release instead--but the 2006 addition of nudity and profanity for the DVD will jar those looking for a PG film!
