Review of The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976) by Alex M — 12 Aug 2013
'The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane' is one of the strangest films I've seen recently - not because its characters are eccentric or its subject matter is odd, but because what exactly is it? The main tone it seems to be striving for is horror, but then it mixes in elements of teenage romance, psychological thriller and straightforward drama.
None of these tonal changes are jarring, but they do give the film an unevenness that is hard to get used to. The only real thing that 'The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane' has going for it are the performances from Jodie Foster, Scott Jacoby and Martin Sheen.
