Review of The Lion King (1994) by Sara K — 31 Dec 2012
This is perhaps THE definitive Disney movie. Blurring the line in which subject matter is appropriate for kids but appealing to adults as well as children, "The Lion King" is a classic, brilliant animated film.
The animation is unbelievable, the story is emotionally moving, the characters are perfectly portrayed through fantastic voice work, Hans Zimmer's score is haunting, Elton John and Tim Rice's original songs are utterly memorable, and it offers a motto to last a lifetime: Hakuna matata.
Timon and Pumbaa are a hilarious comedic duo. Show this to your kids as soon as possible!
