Review of The Lion King (1994) by Aj R — 02 Mar 2013
One of the few children's movies that actually teach kids something, it's something everyone must see in order to understand how life works. After thinking he is responsible for his father's death, Simba runs away and tries to forget his past.
Timone and Pumbaa find him and give their wrong interpretation of "no worries" and convinces him to put his past behind him. This works until he finds out that the kingdom has gone to ruins because he left and must set things right.
In a world where too many people think the past doesn't matter, it's important to teach them to learn from their mistakes. As someone who plans on being a history teacher, this is the first movie I would show my students and not move on until they all understand it.
