Review of The Lion King (1994) by James W — 31 Oct 2013
Best animated movie ever. I haven't seen this in 15 years, and used to watch it over and over when I was like 3 or 4 and would cry. So when I saw the 3D conversion the film still remains as memorable and magical as it was before.
I never cry or tear up at a film. Ever. But I'm 18 now, and I watched this recently and weeped a little. What made me weep was the image of the tree with the wise monkey painting Simba on the wood, I haven't seen it for 15 years and watching it now just brought back memories, it is a haunting image.
This is deeply emotional yet funny, sweet and features a stunning soundtrack, unforgettable.
