Brilliant. Just brillaint. A cast of giants, a perfect setting, a script which bubbles and bursts with all the rich textures of life, tapping into Shakespearean imeagery and rhythms. O'Toole is fantastic, performing in a manner which he has only recently begun to use again.
In my opinion, this is his signature performance, and it makes an already excellent film live and challenge and engage over 40 years after it first hit the screens. Joyous.
