Review of The Lion in Winter (1968) by Philip E — 05 Jul 2007
Admittedly, all of the actors were quite good in this, what with their numerous witty and biting exchanges that boasted the proud in their primitive lifestyle. But that's just what it felt like, really: a showcase for the actors.
Sure, the intricacies of the fiendish familial plotting may prove as an intellectual delight for some, but the film just couldn't hold my attention. Also, I didn't find any of the characters to be at all likable, and that certainly lessened my opinion of the work overall.
