Review of The Lion in Winter (1968) by Michael B — 16 Feb 2008
Word for Word, one of the more stunning scripts ever written. Movies hope for perhaps one of the bombs these dialogues drop regularly in every scene. I am absolutely and thoroughly blown away!
O'Toole and Hepburn are masters of the conflict, but strong performances are also given by Hopkins and Dalton. What fucking debuts they had!!! Another testament to the fact that cinema's greatest words are spoken first in the theatre.
