Review of The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) by Johannes J — 12 Feb 2014
As Matthew McConaughey has made a successful transition from rom com king to dramatic thesbian, I was curious to see what films were the cause of this. Starting with this gem, he is a slimeball, but very likeable and ruthless.
A particular case causes him to re-evaulate his choices. This is a smart courtroom thriller which doesn't really take place that much in the courtroom, much of the action takes place in piecing the puzzle together and although the resolution is a little flat is does remain a decent enough thriller that isn't bogged down with trying to be too clever then it actually is.
Definetly a turning point for McConaughey's career.
