Review of The Limits of Control (2009) by Christian S — 31 May 2009
Jim Jarmusch's most recent effort surely tests its audience's "limits of control" with this slow and repetitive film that will not satisfy the impatient or the immature. A quick scan look over Jarmusch's plot may leave you the viewer questionable but, with an open eye & mind one is able to capture not only the physical beauty of the cinematography but the underlying simplistic comments on the nature of man. Though symbolism is forcibly prevalent it is not completely clear and requires some interpretation from the audience. If you're a fan of Michael Bay's Transformers then you may want to stay away from this movie. However, for those who have enough of a will to suppress their instinctual addiction to mindless action, I highly recommend you go check out "The Limits of Control".
...Plus Bill Murray is always fuqkin hilarious (even in this small 5 minute cameo) and Isaac (the Lonely One) is mesmerizing and yes there are boobs (naked women YAY!). Jarmusch's dry humor that you may know from Coffee and Cigarettes or any of his other works will also be present.
