Review of The Limits of Control (2009) by Bryan E. W — 16 Jun 2009
It's entertaining, but it's one of Jarmusch's worst films. It doesn't quite reach the depths of YEAR OF THE HORSE, but it's still pretty bad due to two reasons. One, it's a political film, and the last kind of film that Jim Jarmusch should be making is a political film.
Two, it completely kisses the audience's ass. I hated how it catered to the usual crowd and how it had to spell the big picture out for us. As a result, it comes off completely weak.
