Was expecting romance movie but it's not (movie poster can be misleading). It's about Lucy/Grace.

First, the performance. Michael Fassbender and Rachel Weisz are doing what they do best, acting. Clearly it shows in the movie as they are veterans. Then you have Alicia Vikander. She's doing okay but the problem is, she's playing the main actress. The main problem is the chemistry between Michael and her. In the kissing scene, she's pretty bad at it that she didn't want anything to do with Michael's character. Bottom line, switch Alicia's role with Rachel.

Second, the plot. One pivotal flash back scene was missing. About how Frank and Lucy ended up on lifeboat without Hannah. The pastor might have said it but he was mumbling through.

Lastly, the music score. The music score is fine until constant loose piano keys that can be hear. Maybe it emphasizes broken piano in the lighthouse but it creates distraction as the loose piano keys played are louder than characters conversation. There were only two scenes about broken piano but I shouldn't suffered from it throughout the movie.

As for any touching scene, spoiler alert, just watch the last 8-10 minutes when it's 1950. Despite these flaws, the movie still hold up well. C grade.
