The cast performs well and the direction is fine, its the story that is not up to par. The Light Between Oceans moves at a very slow pace, and steeps itself in melodrama for the second half. The result is a very disappointing drama film from the filmmaker who made The Place Beyond the Pines and Blue Valentine.
