Review of The Light Between Oceans (2016) by Dean W — 07 Oct 2016
Hard film to watch due to its relentless brutality to its characters and audience. Great performances, although Vikander goes to the well more than once to often to breakdown and cry and blubber, sometimes it works, others it doesn't, just feels like an easy reaction after a while.
The setting is sumptuous and the story hooks you, even if you have a hard time siding with Fassbender's morals.
