Review of The Life Before Her Eyes (2007) by Chris W — 11 Sep 2008
A waste of strong performances by Thurman and Wood and some beautifully lush cinematogaphy. There's a good story lurking here, about conscience and the impac of our decisions. But Perelman can't coherently tell the story and instead confuses the audience with the abrupt time-shifting.
The school shooting is too gratuitously violent and over-the-top and the final act derails completely, aiming for a shocking revelation but instead never really connecting with what went before. A disappointment.
