Review of The Life Before Her Eyes (2007) by Erika A — 18 Feb 2009
Beautiful and a bit slow, 'The Life Before Her Eyes' is rather like a poem that returns at the end of each verse to the phrase that began it. The film is told in circles, without any credence paid to the natural flow of time or the true order of events, though one must watch very carefully to even notice this at first.
To understand the what's and why's of the film the viewer must unwind the story even as the stakes mount and the film rushes ever more intently back to that opening scene that it so longs to complete.
