Review of The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004) by Jason Y — 13 Jun 2005
:(.
I have always been a fan of Peter Sellers' work but never followed his life or lifestyle. If the movie script is true, then he was a personally boring and self-centered human being. I would not have liked to have known him. I definitely would not have been his friend.
Geoffrey Rush's talent, on the other hand, is at least equal if not surpassing of Peter Sellers' talent. The character(s) he plays are well defined and seems to come from a deep study of the subject. I'm not sure he would have liked Peter either.
The script is my main complaint. Slow, ill defined and self-serving just as the character it portrays. I almost shut it off. But I kept thinking that with the actors involved, it must pick up somewhere. .

I was really looking forward to this moive. I heard a lot of good things about it. And I just love Geoffrey Rush. It was a bit of a let down. But still worth watching Geoffrey Rush. I love how he gets loss in the rolls he plays. .

My advice go ahead and rent it. .
