Review of The Libertine (2004) by Laura R — 29 Jan 2008
This movie is brilliant, especially in terms of the wonderful performances by the exceptional cast. But the film began as a successful West End play - meaning it is complex and intellectual at times, which is why the subject content will not suit all, but it DOES offer the opportunity of looking at the story/characters through many different perspectives and definietly merits more than one watch.
The lead character is the most intriguing of all - a real moral questioner.
