Review of The Leopard Man (1943) by Christopher S — 28 Jun 2009
Another sophisticated B-movie chiller from producer Val Lewton and director Jacques Tourneur. Tourneur makes excellent use of light, shadow, and sound in a series of brilliantly crafted suspense scenes - unfortunately, the rest of the plot is awkward and talky, so it's not quite on the level of other Lewton-Tourneur masterpieces like 'Cat People' and 'I Walked with a Zombie'.
Still, well worth checking out for fans of classic horror.
