Review of The Leopard (1963) by Robert P — 23 Aug 2009
Brilliant rendition of a society in change and a class on the wane. Almost, but not quite subsumed by its splendour thanks to virtuoso film making and great performances. Burt's best? Nostaligic and class-ridden yes, but also joyful, humane and realistic in its own romantic way.
Made with a love for the land and for film.
