Of course, Mirren and Sutherland "knock it out of the park" with their performances. Its terribly depressive themes can be most difficult to watch at times, but somehow the filmmakers are able to inject some real laugh-out-loud humor and joys of life amid all the moroseness.
Overall, it's not for everyone but it won me over despite its very dark elements/.
