Review of The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017) by Jake C — 15 Apr 2018
Because this iteration deals with exclusively LEGO properties, it feels much more like a feature-length toy commercial in the long run. Despite Jackie Chan/Master Wu's exhortation to see things in new ways, this ends up feeling very much like a retread of familiar material, a skeletal plot and one-note characters.
Still, the jokes are often clever, occasionally bonkers, and keep proceedings light.
