Review of The Lego Movie (2014) by Nimrod Y — 02 Sep 2015
I'm young enough to remember what it's like to play with LEGO (and trust me, I was a great fan!), but am old enough to view this movie from an adult point of view.
For that I allow myself to say the following: this movie is a must see for adults and children alike, and each age group will see something else in it.
I saw it in 3D in the theaters with my nephews, and they laughed while I was almost in tears by the end.
Graphics is fantastic, with the tiniest details made of LEGO (if anyone has the movie on Blu Ray or DVD, pause during explosions and such to see what I'm talking about). Even the little flashes when lasers hit anything are made of LEGO pieces (specifically, the old flower stands glowing in red, which is honestly an ingenious way to use them).
I highly recommend this to anyone who has ever held a LEGO piece in his hands.
