Review of The Legend of Tarzan (2016) by William W — 03 Aug 2016
The Legend of Tarzan is the biggest surprise of the summer. When I first heard of the idea and then saw the trailers, I was very under whelmed. Then I reluctantly saw the movie. Alexander Skarsgard is a very reserved Tarzan.
His performance builds and gets stronger as the movie progresses, much like David Yates direction on the film. It gets better and better as the film goes on. Samuel L. Jackson is a standout in a supporting role and Margot Robbie and Christoph Waltz do a decent and serviceable job as Jane and the villain of the film.
The story centers around the return of Tarzan back to the jungle after spending years in the human world. The movie is a perfect reflection of that theme. If you like the Tarzan character or you want a good action/adventure movie, you can't go wrong with The Legend of Tarzan.
