Review of The Legend of Tarzan (2016) by Andrew D — 18 Oct 2016

At first glance, I couldn't understand why I hated it. But now I know: It's just not good.

The visual and sound design is outstanding, EVERYONE will tell you that, but it plays out as just your average, horribly written, cash grab. It's not funny, none of the performances, especially Alexander Skarsgard's, are particularly memorable, there is no menace or sense of threat to Tarzan, and it's just too dark for it's own good, even with it's attempts at lightheartedness.
