Review of The Legend of Hercules (1996) by Mark H — 21 Jan 2014
Don't let the so called "critics" keep you from seeing a good movie. It's not a blockbuster, not even great, but it was entertaining. If your a fan of the genre, the Sparticus series, 300, and the like then you should enjoy the show.
Critics want to bash on this movie because they can. No powerhouse studio to risk pissing off, no A list actors to offend their fans. Have these people every seen an Asylum Group movie? Save you wrath and scorn and bottom level rating for that garbage.
This movie while not an epic acting or story was not that far below other Greek myth movies of late, such as Immortals or Titans. Critics whining about muscular men in skimpy outfits, had me worried. No such thing, except a few bared chests.
The critics should google "Greek Statues", this was the self image of the times and your lucky if they're wearing anything. Some complain about how the movie was not true to the myth of Hercules, Stop.
.. think, hmmm took liberties with a fictional character from ancient times. Really? Thor has red hair, doesn't date mortals, oh never mind. Everyone that I know liked this movie. Just leave the unrealistic expectations of the critics at home and you will be entertained.
