Review of The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) by Justin E — 31 Oct 2007

Critics have never been very kind to this film, and I don't understand why. Considering the star power on the screen and behind it, and considering how people were talking about it winning an Oscar well before it was released, where can you go wrong? Although, when you go into a movie expecting it to be great, it very rarely is.

I expected something on the lines of Field of Dreams when I first saw this movie, and that's exactly what I took from it. It's a good sports/life metaphase movie that is very well acted and directed, what more do you want?
