Review of The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) by Richard F — 09 Jul 2009
An underrated film. This is the "Field of Dreams" for golf. Having an emotional connection to golf will certainly enhance viewing pleasure, but it is not a prerequisite. The strength of the film lies not in the aspect of golf so much as it is about finding your true self.
Fans of "Peaceful Warrior" will enjoy this. The film certainly has its share of problems, but my chief criticism is the deviation from the book, which offers better perspective and a more cleverly wrapped theme .
