Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Andrew D — 04 Mar 2010
If it was just a bad movie I could get over it. What vexes me is that the only similarity with the graphic novel was the names of some of the characters.
The addition of Tom Sawyer to the line-up, just for the benefit of the American audience is just one of many changes that annoyed, as was the near complete rewriting of Mina Harker's character.
If you are going to erase any similarities, why bother 'adapting' it at all? Why not just go and write whatever you want? Pathetic.
