Review of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) by Ryan V — 09 Mar 2012
This film, based on a clever comic book by Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill, is about a team of secret agents composed of characters from famous 19th century novels. The team is led by Allan Quartermain (Sean Connery) and includes figures from Dracula, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, The Invisible Man, and others.
Their attempt to foil the plans of Professor Moriarty seems interesting at first, but the movie is quickly mired in tiresome cliche, mediocre acting, and an amateurish script. A boring heap, it's not surprising that both Moore and O'Neill were quick to disown this picture.
