Review of The Lazarus Effect (2015) by Duncan S — 02 Mar 2015
Although it has a vary capable cast of the likes of Olivia Wilde, Evan Peters, etc., The Lazarus Effect fails to deliver a likeable/new plot to appeal to horror movie fanatics. For one, the CGI is terrible, and honestly, for it being a horror movie and not an action packed thriller, I would usually give it a break, but this is just beyond bad.
Also, every single horror movie cliche you could think possible is in there... I constantly found myself calling out every single jump scare and plot twist simply because it was just so predictable. In conclusion, the ending was a cliffhanger, and maybe a hint to a sequel.
.. I strongly advise against this unless they are willing to actually put the work in to make a half decent movie that won't make me feel like I wasted $9.00 on the worst d*** horror movie I have ever seen.
